Who am I ?
Hi I'm Robin Poulain, I'm 25 years old and I am a set engineer. I've always been interested in the world of cinema, that’s why at 16 I chose to register for Cinema and Television speciality and also done some traineeship to comfort my desires.
In 2014, I went to Traveling ; an French Cinema Gala, that was the trigger to me. Indeed, that was the time when I knew I was made for the seventh art. At first it was a hobby, then I decided to put my foot down and make it real. Therefore, I’ve passed my Literature Bachelor with a Cinema Speciality. Afterwards, I proceeded to continue my studies at CLCF (Conservatoire Libre du Cinema Francais), in Paris, which gave me a large view of what Cinema really is.
Then I decided to move to Quebec in 2020, at ECTQ (Ecole de Cinéma de Télévision de Québec) where I have learned deeper about technical knowledge, especially around lighting and cinematography. I worked on many shorts films, workshops and classes related to technical skills and different aspects which built me a strong and significant understanding concerning the job of Director of Photography. Thus I received my DOP degree in february 2021. This journey increased my desire to keep going in this regard(field) of Audiovisual.
Curious film lover, I always enjoy discovering any type of movie. That’s why I subscribed to a season ticket which allows me to go to Cinema many times a week. Besides, I also write reviews of each film that I watch, you can read it here.
However, I was hired to be Community Manager for the twitter account : @Aestheti1Movie, which had 19 000 followers. This account was created to speak about news around cinema, and to bring together a community of cinephiles with some Twitch streams and many more events. Unfortunately this account has been hacked to be selled and we were not able to get it back. I still host somes streams about the seventh art, this helps me to share my passion with others while feeding discussions to increase my passion.
